Overview
Booksmarky is a Chrome extension that helps you organize bookmarks with AI-powered folder suggestions. This policy describes what data is processed when you use the extension and our API at booksmarky-api.fly.dev.
Data we process
- Bookmark content for analysis: when you save or organize a bookmark, the extension sends the bookmark title, URL, and a summary list of your existing folder names and paths to our server so the AI can suggest a folder. We do not upload your entire bookmark tree — only what is needed for each request.
- Account identity: sign-in uses Google OAuth. We store a user identifier linked to your Google account to manage credits and usage history.
- Credits & billing: purchase history and credit balance are stored on our server. Payments are handled by Creem; we do not store your full card details.
- Extension settings: preferences such as language and auto-classify toggle are stored locally in Chrome on your device.
- Pending suggestions: suggested moves you have not yet applied are cached locally in the extension until you confirm or dismiss them.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
- We do not use your data for advertising, credit scoring, or purposes unrelated to bookmark organization.
- We do not move bookmarks on your behalf without your explicit confirmation inside the extension.
Third-party services
- LLM providers — process bookmark title, URL, and folder context to generate folder suggestions on our behalf.
- Creem — processes payments for credit packages.
- Google — provides OAuth sign-in.
Data retention & security
Credit ledger entries are retained for billing and support. API requests are rate-limited. Communications with our server use HTTPS. You can clear your local extension session from the extension settings.
Your choices
You can uninstall the extension at any time. To request account deletion or ask privacy questions, contact us at the email below.
